Our approach
Outdoor learning that starts with curiosity.
We believe the best days outside are practical, playful and purposeful. Every Tanglewood activity makes space for children to ask questions, test ideas and discover what they can do. There are lots of barriers today in getting children outside. We believe that time spent outdoors, away from screens, is essential for their physical and mental wellbeing. It helps them develop their independence, resilience, confidence and social skills.

Safety Reassurance
Our session leaders create welcoming, well-prepared outdoor days for children, families and schools. They bring calm guidance, practical skills and a healthy respect for the unpredictable magic of a woodland. The safety and well-being of everyone is of upmost importance, with strict measures in place for safeguarding children and risk assessments for our locations and activities. The team are qualified First Aiders, enhanced DBS checked and are trained to carry out risk assessments. Tanglewood aims to provide children with more freedom for natural, good old-fashioned fun in open spaces, and to learn in a positive flexible environment.
